Mr.
Cohen served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Real Estate
Enterprises, Inc., which
was located on Arthur Godfrey Road in Miami Beach until Esslinger -
Wooten - Maxwell, Inc. bought his company. He also served as the principal
regulatory compliance officer and trust funds fiduciary. His leadership
provided new and creative approaches to real estate acquisition,
resolution capital, investment, and management needs in the complex and
changeable business environment.
Mr.
Cohen has lived in Miami Beach for over 40 years and has extensive
experience in developing, building and operating income-producing
properties for him and other investors. Beginning in 1970,when he became
the youngest licensed general contractor in the State of Florida, he
served as Vice President of Cohen-Ager, Inc., a major South Florida
construction and development firm where he developed industrial income
properties. In 1986, he became one of the pioneer developers of South
Beach, redeveloping numerous Art Deco structures. Including ownership
and management of two nightclubs and restaurants.
He
is a real estate columnist and frequent real estate speaker and
lecturer. Mr. Cohen was appointed to the unsafe structures board of Dade
County and has served as a member of the Miami Beach Historic
Preservation Board, is a past Director of the Miami Beach Development
Corporation, and is an active member of the Miami Beach Chamber of
Commerce. He is past Director and Past President of the Miami Beach
Association of Realtors, and was selected as "1991 Realtor of the
Year." He currently is also a past President of the Commercial
Realtors Association of Greater Miami and the Beaches. He is a Florida
Certified General Contractor, and a licensed real estate and mortgage
broker. |
